HIPPA Notice of Privacy Practices

This Notice describes how your health and personal information may be used and disclosed, and how you can access this information. Please review it carefully.

1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Embrace Childbirth & Lactation, LLC provides lactation consulting, doula support, childbirth education, and related services. In the course of providing these services, we may collect and maintain information about you and your family. We are committed to protecting your privacy, whether your information is governed under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) or as personal information collected through our website.

2. Use and Disclosure of Health Information

We may use or share your Protected Health Information (PHI) for purposes of:

Treatment: To provide you with lactation or doula support, coordinate with your other healthcare providers, or provide appropriate referrals.

Payment: To process payment for services, including communications with insurance or reimbursement programs when applicable.

Health Care Operations: For scheduling, record-keeping, and administrative purposes that allow us to run our practice responsibly.

We may also contact you to provide reminders about appointments, share educational materials, or notify you of services that may support your health and wellness.

We are legally required to disclose your information in certain circumstances, such as:

6. Doula Services & Privacy

As doulas, we do not provide medical advice or clinical care. However, we often learn sensitive information about your pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and family life. This information is treated with the same level of privacy and respect as your medical information. We will only share details with your explicit consent, or when necessary to coordinate with your chosen health care providers.

7. Our Duties
We are required by law to:

Maintain the privacy of your information.

Provide you with this Notice describing our privacy practices.

Abide by the terms of this Notice.

If we make changes to these practices, we will update this Notice and provide you with a new copy.
